OBAMA-NEXT represented at ESA User Consultation Meeting in Frascati
Over the past three days, OBAMA-NEXT was represented at a User Consultation Meeting hosted by the European Space Agency (ESA) in Frascati, Italy.
The meeting brought together an interdisciplinary group of experts from across the world, including representatives from ESA and NASA, to discuss the improvement of satellite-derived products for coastal ecosystem management. A key focus of the discussions was the use of satellite data to support the mapping of blue carbon in marine and coastal environments.
For OBAMA-NEXT, participation in this meeting provided a valuable opportunity to contribute to ongoing scientific exchange on remote sensing applications relevant to biodiversity monitoring and ecosystem assessment. These discussions are closely aligned with the project’s broader objective of improving the observation and mapping of marine ecosystems through advanced and integrated tools.
The event also created space for collaboration across institutions and disciplines, helping to strengthen links between the remote sensing community and projects working to support evidence-based marine policy and management.
OBAMA-NEXT is grateful for the opportunity to take part in this meeting and thanks ESA for the invitation and the excellent organisation of the event.
