OBAMA-NEXT joins collaborative Field Campaign in Formentera
From the 23rd until the 27th of September, Sanjina Upadhyay from Aarhus University travelled to the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) in Finland to discuss her work within the OBAMA-NEXT project with Louise Forsblom and Ari-Pekka from Syke, and Jarno Vanhatalo from the University of Helsinki.
This weeklong meeting focused on discussing and testing methods for habitat modelling using species distribution modelling and remote sensing between Learning Site 1 (Finland) and 2 (Denmark). The partners also carried out discussions about seagrass habitat modelling within the context of nature restoration law. Finally, Sanjina had the opportunity of sharing some of her own work with other Syke colleagues through a seminar on habitat modelling and remote sensing projects in Danish seas.
Collaborative efforts such as these strengthen the ties between learning sites and partners, and drive the development and application of the OBAMA-NEXT research. Stay tuned with our website for more updates on collaborations and breakthroughs.
